The estate is undergoing ongoing restoration. At certain times work takes place on the facade of the main building, but the apartments are fully functional and the restoration doesn't directly affect them.

Bystřice nad Úhlavou has stood on a rocky outcrop above the Úhlava river since the 14th century, when a Gothic fort stood here. The Renaissance, the Baroque and finally the rebuild of 1843–1853, when the château belonged to Karl Anton, Prince of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, gave it its present form. So under one roof you'll find seven centuries of history.
The château is listed as a cultural monument and is undergoing active restoration under the supervision of the Plzeň Region. The apartments in the side wing were completely renovated in 2024 in a period 19th-century style, so you stay in a piece of history, but with every modern comfort.
Each apartment has its own kitchenette, bathroom and a separate entrance. No reception, no shared corridors, just the château park outside the windows and the calm of the northern edge of Šumava. Cycle routes, the Nýrsko reservoir and e-bikes are all right within reach.

Is the château being renovated?
Yes. The roof was completely finished in 2024, and restoration of the eastern-wing facade began in 2025. The apartment building has had its exterior finished since 2021, and the apartments were completely renovated in 2024. The construction works are on the main building, not in the accommodation part.
What's the minimum length of stay?
Two nights.
What's the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival. For cancellation 7–14 days ahead the fee is 50 % of the booking price, less than 7 days 100 %. Details in the terms & conditions. If you need to move your stay, write to us.
Can I book several apartments at once?
Yes. For group stays or accommodating wedding guests, contact us directly.
Is breakfast available?
Yes, as a breakfast box, 250 Kč per person per night. Must be ordered in advance.
Do you accept benefit points?

Are pets allowed?

Yes, the park and garden are open every summer from 1 June to 30 September, daily 9:00–17:00. Free entry (voluntary). During private events the estate may be closed.
